Writing Resources

We all need help writing that term paper, resume, or cover letter at some point. Below are some helpful resources below along with some notes on each resource:
- Building An Argument by Dennis G. Jerz an assistant professor of English at Seton Hill University. This post explains the elements of a well-written paper. Jerz lists brief examples of each element. He also discusses the different kinds of arguments that a writer may choose to use in his or her paper. An example of an argument is the Rogerian Argument. A couple of the links do not work which is why I provided a separate link for the latter link. You can find the link for The Structure Of A Classical Argument here. The links at the bottom Jerz’s page all appear to work and all deal with the writing/construction of a term paper.
- Online Writing Materials from the Dartmouth College provides information about writing papers in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Dartmouth also provides information about professional writing and writing for graduate school applications.
- Sources And Citation At Dartmouth College provides information about citing sources and provides information about citing collaborative efforts on group papers, lab assignments, and other projects. This section also defines plagiarism and common knowledge.
Of course, you don’t have to be a college student to benefit from these resources. In general, you can apply many of the guidelines on these sites to business writing or personal writing. I hope you find these resources helpful. Good luck with your writing projects.
